Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
One of the most important franchises in the National Hockey League and a charter member of the league all the way back in 1917, the Toronto Maple Leafs have claimed a total of thirteen (13) Stanley Cups over the course of their 107 year history and have had more Hockey Hall of Fame inductees than any other franchise. Offered here, is this collection of eight (8) Maple Leafs hockey cards that date between the 1950s up to the 2010s. Hailing from a mix of Parkhurst, In The Game and O-Pee-Chee releases, the group is paced by KSA graded copies of Johnny Bower's 1958-59 Parkhurst card (KSA ENM+ 6.5) and Darryl Sittler's 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee card (KSA EX 5) as well as a Dave Keon autograph card from ITG's 2006-07 Ultimate Memorabilia 7th Edition release (Ultimate Autograph Silver - serial numbered "45/50") that is still housed in its original holder and remains in overall excellent condition. For the rest of the lot, included are examples of Mike Palmateer (1979-80 O-Pee-Chee) and Rick Vaive (1980-81 O-Pee-Chee - Subgrades; Centering 9.5, Corners 10, Edges 9.5 and Surface 9) that have both been assessed marks of GEM MINT 9.5 by Beckett as well as Dave Keon (2006-07 ITG Ultimate Memorabilia 7th Edition - Game-Used Jersey Silver - "09/25"), James Reimer (2009-10 Upper Deck "Young Guns" - Graded MINT 9 by Beckett - Subgrades; Centering 10, Corners 9, Edges 9.5 and Surface 8.5) and Borje Salming (2010-11 ITG Ultimate Memorabilia 10th Edition - European Influence Silver - "22/24"). All housed in their original Beckett/ITG holders that remain in overall good condition with just light wear via scratches/scuffs present over each, don't miss out on these for your Maple Leafs portfolio.
It must be noted that the grading standards followed by KSA may not correspond to those currently employed by PSA, BGS or SGC. The outcome of an attempted cross-over of this piece through any of those services, then, would be uncertain and cannot be guaranteed.
