Suiting up with the Niagara Falls Thunder, Detroit Whalers and Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League during his junior career and playing Canadian university hockey with the University of Guelph, Mike Van Volsen would play a total of sixty-seven (67) games in his professional career, suiting up in the WPHL with both the Lubbock Cotton Kings and Tupelo T-Rex during the 2000-01 season. Offered here, we present this Whalers jersey worn by Van Volsen during the team's inaugural season of 1995-96. Made by CCM and displaying both size "54" and Maska labels affixed to the inner collar, the logos of both CCM and the CHL have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Whalers team crest that includes embroidered details throughout, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Van Volsen's number "2" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while "Van Volsen" has been spelt out in single layer navy twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Retaining its original fight strap on the interior, the jersey shows just light game-wear via stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves, a pair of unrepaired small cuts over the left shoulder and light board burns over both sleeves. Additionally, light pilling exists on the interior as well.
