Inducted into to the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2011, Doug Gilmour would enjoy an NHL career that spanned 20 seasons with 7 different franchises. A Stanley Cup champion as a member of the Calgary Flames in 1989, up for grabs here is this stick wielded by "Killer" during the era of the early-2000s as a member of the Buffalo Sabres. A circa 2000-01 season example made by Easton, the Synergy model stick sports "93 Gilmour" graphics over the upper shaft and retains its original tape job of white over the handle/knob and tattered black around the blade and heel. Signed by Gilmour over the heel on the forehand side with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue, the stick shows game wear via a number of marks and abrasions over the length of the shaft as well as over the lower shaft also. Additionally, more marks are observed over both sides of the heavily ripped blade tape, which shows with heavy wear and tears along the bottom edge. Of note, a handwritten notation in black marker ink is present on the underside of the shaft that cannot be made out and the stick was originally displayed at Mike Walton's bar and restaurant, Shakeys, in Toronto. A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany the piece.
