Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
While it’s hard for any modern hockey adherent to imagine netminders roaming the crease bare-faced, that was entirely the case for the majority of the sport’s existence. Originating from the formative days of head gear protection, we have a rare circa late-1950s Louch plexiglass goal mask with the original box. With a girth of 7” across the reverse from ear to ear, the mask feature’s the original red leather head strapping and matching leather-covered chin padding. In lightly used condition with the leather remaining supple and just light wear throughout, there are a few scratches/marks to the plexiglass. The original box with Louch graphics and affixed instruction sheet shows wear including some soiling, with an original pamphlet (poor condition) and Louch cleaner also included. The Bob skates are made for children, and they remain in excellent condition, with light wear to the original box.
