Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025

One of hockey’s toughest enforcers, Wade Belak played over 500 games in the NHL, most notably for the Toronto Maple Leafs where he played most of his career. May he rest in peace. This lot features a game-used Innovative hockey stick, a model of stick briefly used by Belak during the final portion of the 2002-03 season. The back of the blade is inscribed with a smudged "March" (likely a mistake), followed by "April 5/03" and "Toronto 1 Ottawa 3," marking the score of the game. The stick retains its original tape job on the knob, while the tape on the blade was removed for the signature. The stick exhibits visible game wear, including scuffing and marks along the shaft and blade. Belak signed the blade in bold silver marker, with the signature having a few marks/scratches through it but overall still displaying well.
Also included is a Toronto Maple Leafs white home replica jersey signed by Belak. Made by Koho, "Center Ice Authentic" and size "52 Made in Canada" tagging are affixed to the collar. The jersey features blue lettering and numbering, with a fight strap sewn on the inside and the original store tags are still attached to the lower left sleeve. The jersey remains in excellent condition with a few small light stains on the lower front of the jersey to be noted. Belak signed the left breast in blue marker, and again on the back over the number "2" in silver marker with both signatures displaying nicely. The lot will be accompanied by a JSA Auction LOA for the signed jersey and the signature on the stick.
