This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
One of the premier last names in all of the Finnish hockey landscape, the Selanne surname is synonymous with both National Hockey League and international hockey success, with head member and father, Teemu Selanne would enjoy a 22-year NHL career, registering 1457 points over that time and averaging more than a point a game. A Stanley Cup champion and a medalist at four (4) different Olympics plus a pair (2) of World Championships with Team Finland, offered here is this collection of sticks used by members of the Selanne Family, including Teemu and his sons, Eetu and Leevi. Starting with the Teemu stick, an Easton S19 model that dates to the 2011-12 season, "Selanne" and "8" factory graphics are present over the upper shaft while the stick sports black tape wrapped around the shaved handle/knob. Of note, photos of Teemu using this model show him as using white tape over the handle, differing what is seen here. Having had most of the original black blade tape removed to facilitate Teemu's flowing silver marker ink signature over the forehand side that displays without issue, the 2017 HHOF inductee has added and inscription reading "Nikolle Tzemia 2012" in matching ink that shows in the same condition. Displaying light but clear signs over game-use, some marks and abrasions are present throughout the shaft, lower shaft and heel while a couple of light marks appear over the remaining blade tape as well. For the sticks of his sons, Eetu and Leevi, both twigs are Warrior Covert QR1 model offerings that date from the mid-2010s and sport factory graphics over the upper shafts reading "E. Selanne" and "L. Selanne". Both retaining their original white tape jobs over the handles/knobs (Leevi's is heavily tattered), both sticks also retain their original black or white tape jobs wrapped around the blades as well, with Eetu having signed his over the forehand side with a silver marker ink signature that displays without issue. Both showing good game-wear via many marks and abrasions throughout the shafts, heels and blades, it is important to note that the Eetu is stick is broken despite being fully intact, showing a crack/break near the bottom of the shaft. The sticks were originally obtained by our consignor directly from the Selanne Family during the early-2020s.
