Suiting up for the Sudbury Wolves, Niagara Falls Thunder, Erie Otters and Oshawa Generals in the OHL during his junior career, Chester Gallant would play a total of four (4) years on Canada's east coast with the Acadia University Axemen in the AUAA/AUS between 1998 and 2002, playing eighty (80) games over that time. Offered here, we present this Axemen jersey worn by Gallant's as a member of the Acadia University squad during the period of the late-1990s and/or early-2000s. A heavyweight mesh construction garment made by ProJoy, the company's label has been torn out of the inner collar while their logo patch is still in place over the reverse hem. Measuring out to roughly a size "56", the front of the garment is decorated with an Acadia team crest in layered tackle twill that has had "Acadia" embroidered into it while matching alternate logo patches have been added over both shoulders. Sporting a Pepsi sponsorship crest over the right breast, the sleeves and verso of the jersey have had Gallant's number "22" sewn to them in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while "Gallant" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across and affixed red mesh nameplate at the top of the reverse. Of note, the nameplate has been sewn together between the second "L" and the "A". Displaying with significant red colour bleed in the white areas of the jersey with the sleeves also having been heavy shortened, the jersey sports good game-wear via light stick marks over the front, reverse and both sleeves while numerous team repairs exist over the front and both sleeves as well. Also exhibiting board burns and small unrepaired holes over both sleeves, the interior is void of a fight strap and has heavy pilling at both elbows.
