Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
The first-overall selection at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Nail Yakupov spent his first four NHL seasons with Edmonton followed by single-season stints with St Louis and Colorado. Currently skating with the KHL's Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, Yakupov would register a total of 136 points in his 350 National Hockey League games played. Offered here, we present this Edmonton Oilers jersey worn by Yakupov on October 20th, 2014 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Made by Reebok, size “56” and Elite Sportswear tags are affixed to the inner collar while crests for the NHL and Reebok rest over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front with the familiar Oilers team crest that features embroidered details, the sleeves have been accented with Yakupov's number “10” in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while “Yakupov” spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate in single layer white twill letters at the top of the reverse. Signed by Nail through the top of the "0" on the reverse with a black marker ink signature that displays well, the jersey, worn for just a single game, shows wear via some stick marks on the inside of the left sleeve and through the middle of the front crest. Having had an Oilers team tag sewn inside the reverse hem as well as a MeiGray label serial numbered "L02112", according to the company's population report, the jersey is a "Blue - Promotional Game 10/20/14 - One Game Promotional Set Worn on 10/20/14" offering. Regarding the photo-match, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #458004196 (October 20th, 2014 vs Tampa Bay) to the stick marks on the inside of the left sleeve and through the middle of the front crest.
