Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Making his NHL debut in a Boston Bruins sweater at 18 years-of-age, Bobby Orr would score 41 points in 61 games during his inaugural season of 1966-67, and starting in 1969-70, the superstar would register six consecutive seasons of 100+ points. This rookie-era postcard has been signed by the legendary blueliner. Produced by JD McCarthy, the black and white postcard with blank back has been signed by Orr near the base in blue ballpoint with a personalization. The signature is flawless, with just light wear to the corners of the postcard along with a pair of faint surface bends. Accompanying the signed postcard, the lot also includes two matching circa-1969/70 postcards with small bios on the reverse, one for Orr, the other, Johnny Bucyk (both show minimal wear, with each corner showing a line from once being in an album, held by the corners), and a 1971-72 postcard of Phil Esposito with bio and stats on the reverse along with a pen notation (light corner wear). A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany for the signed postcard.
