Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Just the second NHL team in history to repeat as Stanley Cup champions, the Montreal Canadiens captured the 1930 title after sweeping the Boston Bruins in a best-of-three final, while the 1931 championship witnessed the Habs take out Charlie Gardiner and the Chicago Black Hawks in five. With an unchanged roster in both championships, we have a team photo of the 1930 & 1931 Stanley Cup champion Canadiens, along with 5 circa late-1920s Montreal player photos. The glossy team photo is 7" x 9" and affixed to a slightly larger mount, with the full team pictured in full-length images including legendary superstar Howie Morenz. There are a few scratches to the image, along with some minor staining over the left hand side. The player photos are approx 8" x 10" and include Albert Leduc, Wildor Larochelle, goalie Alphonse Lacroix and two others, one appearing to be Hector Lepine. Each extremely rare photo has some water staining to the right side along with toning and somewhat wrinkled surfaces.
