Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/26/2024
An intriguing letter with this complete Grey Border five-photo set reveals that it was during Foster Hewitt's radio broadcasts of the Memorial Cup that listeners were promised pictures of hockey's championship clubs of 1932-33. Those who wrote to the C.C.M Company received group shots of the Stanley Cup champion N.Y. Rangers, Allan Cup champion Moncton Hawks and Memorial Cup champion Newmarket Redmen, along with one of the '32-33 Maple Leafs and another of Foster himself. Excellent condition photos on thicker paper stock show light wear including minor toning, with a promo ad card and two mailing envelopes included (both envelopes show expected wear including staining to one envelope).
