Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years later. Inducted into the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972, offered here is this pair of Howe cards that hail from the 1962-63 and 1963-64 Parkhurst releases. The last two sets ever released by Parkhurst and hailing from seasons that saw Howe and the Red Wings make trips to the Stanley Cup Finals, Howe is featured over the front of each card in possed images wearing his red Detroit Red Wings jersey. Both freshly graded by the professionals at PSA, the 1962-63 offering has been assessed a mark of EX-MT 6 while the 1963-64 example displays a designation of VG-EX 4 over its label. Both retaining excellent visual appeal and housed in flawless PSA holders, don't miss out on this pair of key Original Six offerings from hockey's golden years for your all-important collection!
