Named to the CFL's Top 50 Player list in 2006, Joe Krol could run, kick, and pass, and became one of the greatest triple-threat players. Playing with the Hamilton Wildcats, Detroit Lions and Toronto Argonauts between 1942 and 1952 plus an additional year in 1955, Krol would win a total of six (6) Grey Cup championships during his career and be awarded the Lou Marsh Trophy in 1946 as Canada's top athlete. Inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1963 and Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1975, Krol's No. 55 jersey is one of only four in Argo franchise history to be retired and he was also named to the all-time Argos team in 1996. Offered here, we present this circa 1951 Joe Krol Toronto Argonauts premium ring that was issued by Kellogg's in boxes of Rice Krispies product. A small pink/flesh coloured offering that is sized for the small fingers of a child, a cartoon like image of Krol throwing a pass appears over the face on a neon green background with "Joe Krol" and "Argonaut Star" appearing above and below, the image over the face is intact with some scratches through it while the rest of the ring shows some spots of discolouration and small dings/dents. Additionally, also included with the lot is a copy of the original ad for the ring and a copy of Canadian Football Review from 1951 that shows Krol over the cover. In terms of condition, the magazine has the expected handling wear to the surface, edges and corners as well as punched holes and staining to the spine that goes through majority of the pages.
