This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
A product of the WHL's Medicine Hat Tigers who would originally be drafted 132nd overall by the Detroit Red Wings at the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Darren Helm would go on to play a total of 823 games in his National Hockey League career, split between the Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche, winning Stanley Cups with both teams in 2008 and 2022 respectively. A gold medalist at the 2007 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships with Team Canada, offered here is this stick used by Helm as a member of the Colorado Avalanche during game six (6) of the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals against the Tampa Bay Lightning. A TRUE Catalyst 9X model twig with "Helm" factory graphics over the upper shaft, the stick retains Helm's original tape job of black cloth finish with black at the bottom over the handle/knob and black over the blade as well. Exhibiting overall good game-wear with the serial number stickers still present over the underside of the upper shaft, the stick shows numerous marks and abrasions throughout the shaft, lower shaft and heel while the blade tape shows marks over both sides and tears/cuts over the forehand side. Accompanied by a matching Avalanche COA listing the game the stick was used in, the twig has been photo-matched with Getty Image #1405327683 (June 26th, 2022 vs Tampa Bay - Stanley Cup Finals Game 6) to the white marks over the untaped section of the heel on the forehand side.
