Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
The first German-born player to win the Art Ross Trophy as the leading point scorer in the NHL, the Hart Memorial Trophy as regular season MVP, and the Ted Lindsay Award for most outstanding player, Leon Draisaitl is not one to shy away from pulling off moves that put him in highlight reels all over the league, with many coming his way due to the fact that he serves as the right-hand man to the Oilers other superstar, Connor McDavid. Offered here, we present this pair of photo-matched skates worn by Leon during the 2021-22 season in which he posted 110 points in 80 games played and 32 points in 16 playoff contests. CCM Ribcore model boots with XS blade holders attached to the bottom of each, the original steel personalized with Draisaitl's name and number are still found in each holder while his number "29" have been embroidered into the top of each tongue. Also including the original laces and having had stickers affixed to the bottom each skate that list Leon's name and sharpening information, an Edmonton Oilers authenticity sticker and team hologram has been added over top of the sticker on the left skate and lists things such as; player, season, item and the fact that they have been photo-matched as well. Exhibiting overall moderate wear via things such as scuffs, marks, cuts and abrasions over both skate boots and blade holders, Draisaitl has signed over each toe cap with silver marker ink signatures that display without issue. Regarding the photo-match, the skates are matched with Getty Image #1237554339 (January 5th, 2022 vs Toronto) to the puck marks near the CCM at the toe on the outside of the right skate blade holder.
