A 6 foot 5 inch shooting guard and small forward out of Georgetown University who helped the Hoyas to an NCAA Championship in 1984 over the Houston Cougars, David Wingate would lead the team in steals that year and help them to another National Title Game appearance the following year. Drafted 44th overall at the 1986 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers and going on to a career that spanned 15-years, offered here is this 76ers jersey worn by Wingate during the 1987-88 season of play when he averaged 8.9 points per game. A mesh construction offering with knitted accents made by MacGregor Sand-Knit, the NBA logo is embroidered into the left collar area while a label reading "Designed & Tailored Exclusively For The Philadelphia 76ers" is affixed over the lower front left side above a MacGregor Sand-Knit size "42" label as well. Also featuring additional "87" year and "2" LB" labels added on in the same area, the front is decorated with "Sixers" in dual layer blue-over-red individually sewn on tackle twill letters, Wingate's number "25" is found over the front and reverse in matching style numbers while "Wingate" is spelt out over the top of the reverse in individually sewn on single layer twill letters. Remaining in overall good condition with spot staining over the lower front and reverse, it should also be noted that the once crisp white jersey now displays with fairly even yellow hue throughout.
