Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Collectively hoisting Lord Stanley's coveted prize at seasons end a total of twenty (20) times throughout their careers as members of the Montreal Canadiens, the Habs' "Big Three" of Serge Savard, Guy Lapointe and Larry Robinson would all have their respective numbers retired by the club and would all go on to be inducted into the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame. Offered here, we present this lot that features the desirable rookie cards of Savard, Lapointe and Robinson. Hailing from the 1969-70, 1970-71 and 1973-74 O-Pee-Chee releases and all having been inspected and encapsulated by the professionals at PSA, each of the three (3) included cards has been assessed a mark of MINT 9 for their efforts with each sporting high-grade attributes such as sharp corners, smooth edges, clean surfaces, excellent centering and gorgeous colours that one would expect from cards of this nature. All housed in slightly order style PSA holders that remain in good condition despite some scratches and scuffs affecting all three (3), the story presented on the PSA Population Report tells the tale of how the Savard offering is a POP-9, including one (1) qualifier, example with only two (2) ever graded higher, of how the Lapointe rookie is a POP-47 example with only three (3) ever graded higher and of how the Robinson is a POP-40 example with only five (5) ever graded higher. A stunning high-grade trio, don't miss out on these for your all important vintage collection!
