Drafted 4th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the 1986 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Zarley Zalapski would play eleven years in the NHL, siting up for Pittsburgh, Hartford, Calgary, Montreal and Philadelphia during that time. Registering a total of 384 points during his time in the league and playing in the 1993 NHL All-Star Game, offered here is team-signed stick used by Zalapski as a member of Team Canada at the 1988 Winter Olympic Games in Calgary, Alberta. A Koho made twig with "Zalapski" stamped over the upper shaft, the stick retains its original white tape job over both the handle/knob and white over the blade. Displaying with moderate-to-heavy wear, dark marks are observed top-to-bottom on both sides of the shaft while a couple of small marks/abrasions are present in the blade stem area as well. Also showing puck marks and some soiling/discoloration on both sides of the blade tape, it is also worth noting that the bottom of the blade shows heavy wear and cracking. Additionally, a piece of white tape has been added over the forehand side and has been signed by approximately thirteen (13) members of that years Olympic squad including; Andy Moog, Tim Watters, Ken Barry, Zarley Zalapski, Vaughn Karpan, Steve Tambellini, Wally Schreiber, Serge Boisvert, Gord Sherven, Randy Gregg, Marc Habscheid, Claude Vilgrain and one (1) other. All the autographs have been penned in blue ballpoint pen ink and display well despite fading from age.
