A veteran of 589 National Hockey League games after playing college hockey with the University of Denver Pioneers and winning a pair of NCAA National Championships, Keith Magnuson would spend his entire NHL tenure in the Windy City of Chicago as a member of the Black Hawks and be selected to play at both the 1971 and 1972 NHL All-Star Games. Having had his number retired by Chicago in 2008, offered here is this stick used by Magnuson as a member of the Black Hawks in the late-1970s. A Northland made twig that had had "Magnuson" stamped to the upper shaft" and his number "3" penned below it in black marker ink, an additional stamp from equipment supplier "Gunzo's" is found over the forehand side of the upper shaft as well. Retaining its original white-over-black tape job on the knob and void of any on the blade, the stick shows good game-use throughout via numerous marks and abrasions over the entire length of the shaft as well as over the lower shaft, heel and blade as well. Display a pattern number stamp of "6509-1" on the lower portion of the shaft on the forehand side and a foil striping accent sticker over the lower shaft as well that remains intact, the graphics on the backhand side of the shaft have been sanded off to facilitate signatures of the entire team. Having all been penned in green marker, the autographs are largely unable to be made out due to heavy running and smudging from getting wet it appears. Of note, a hook has been screwed top of the buttend.
