Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
Making his NHL debut at historic Boston Garden on October 19, 1966 vs the Detroit Red Wings, which included battling the legendary Gordie Howe on his very first shift, Bobby Orr would assist on Wayne Connelly's second period goal on the powerplay, with the Bruins taking the match, 6-2. This Boston Garden program was produced for the monumental contest, and it is accompanied by a 1966-67 Orr rookie season Bruins media guide. The 40-page program is fully-intact and contains a full page article on the prized rookie and remains in nice condition with a faint crease down the middle and a dark stain on parts of the lineup page. There is also some minor wear to the spine. The 56-page Bruins media guide from Orr’s first season is in excellent condition with just a touch of wear showing on the cover. Also included is a photocopy of the official NHL game report that shows Orr’s in the line-up.
