Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
The fourth (4th) series of hockey cards released by O-Pee-Chee, the 1936-37 O-Pee-Chee hockey release breaks from the tradition of earlier sets as players who appeared in previous sets were allowed to return. Additionally, the pictures reverted back to black and white shots, as did the backgrounds too. Finally, all the cards were die-cut, a first among major hockey card sets. Offered here, we present this group of four (4) cards from the 1936-37 O-Pee-Chee Series "D" release. A largely low-grade quartet, included are the examples of 98-Schriner RC (EX - slight corner wear and unperforated), 115-Robinson (FR to G - loose perforation, stain on front at the top left and large stains on the back, 121-Morenz ("Authentic" - repaired, loose perforation, tape/scrapbook residue on the reverse and light staining on the front) and 129-Joliat (G to VG - loose perforation - small stain on the front). A classic quartet of some desirable pre-war offerings, don't miss out on these!
