The only player in NHL history to score over 600 goals while earning 2,000+ penalty minutes, Brendan Shanahan played an impressive 21 seasons, winning three Stanley Cup’s with the Detroit Red Wings. Offered here, is this stick used by Shanahan during the 1997-98 with the Wings. An Easton Z-Bubble model that saw use by the HOFer only during the 1997-98 season, “Shanahan” is stamped over the stem of the inserted blade. Retaining its original tape job of black over both the knob/handle and blade, “4/7” is penned to the butt end in black ink, possibly dating the stick to Detroit’s game vs the St. Louis Blues on April 7th, 1998, a 5-3 victory in which Shanny picked up a pair of penalty minutes in the third period and was +1 in 19:18 of ice time. Showing moderate game-use, numerous dark marks are observed throughout the shaft, heel and blade tape, which also exhibits some small tears/wear to the bottom as well.
