A veteran of 473 National Hockey League games played with the Anaheim Ducks, New Jersey Devils, Carolina Hurricanes and Dallas Stars after being drafted 106th overall by the Ducks at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Sami Vatanen has also drawn into the lineup on numerous occasions for his home country of Finland, including at the Olympic Winter Games in 2014 and 2022, the IIHF World Championships in 2010 and 2022 and the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. A gold medalist at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games and 2022 IIHF World Championships, offered here is this Team Finland jersey worn by Ruutu at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, where they won a bronze medal. Made by Nike, a "swoosh" logo and a size "58" designation are screened to the inner collar along with a matching "Made in Canada" notation and an "IIHF Authentic Collection" label that has been sewn in. Sporting a 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics logo patch over the reverse hem and modelled after the jerseys worn by Finland in international competition up until 1976, a Finland coat of arms patch has been heat-pressed over the front with "Suomi" spelt out above in heat pressed dual layer red-over-silver letters that have been applied in a gentle arch. Sporting the ghostly outline of the country's lion over both shoulders and the Finnish flag in both sleeves, a Nike swoosh logo appears heat pressed over the right breast while the sleeves and verso have been accented with Ruutu's number "45" in single and dual layer tackle twill numerals with "Vatanen" spelt out in single layer white twill letters that have been heat pressed across the affixed matching nameplate. Displaying with overall light game-wear, a few stick marks are scattered throughout the right sleeve along with a small fabric pull above the right elbow. Featuring a Nike Team Sports barcode and fight strap on the interior, the jersey has been photo-matched with Getty Image #470924765 (February 21st, 2014 vs Sweden) to the stick mark on the right sleeve.
