A product of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Estevan Bruins that played a total of 249 games in the National Hockey League over the course of his career with the likes of the Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings and Buffalo Sabres, Skip Krake would also suit up in the WHA as a member of the Cleveland Crusaders and Edmonton Oilers to the tune of 207 total games. Offered here, we present this Cleveland Crusaders jersey worn by Krake during the WHA's inaugural season of 1972-73. A heavyweight durene knit offering made by Rawlings, a brand label that includes a size "46" designation is affixed inside the reverse hem while a white lace is fed through the eyelets of the tie-neck style collar. Decorated over the front with a Crusaders team crest in layered tackle twill that also sports beautiful chain-stitched embroidered details, the sleeves and verso of the garment have been accented with Krake's number "17" in sewn on single layer purple twill numerals while "Krake" is spelt out in matching style letters that have been sewn directly to the material at the top of the reverse. Displaying the ghostly remains of not one (1) but two (2) previously sewn on alternate captain "A" over the left breast, Krake has signed over the reverse at the left side of his name with a black marker ink signature that displays well despite its age. Now a slightly off-white/cream colour throughout with purple and other coloured stains over the body and sleeves, game-wear is displayed via a good sized red coloured board paint transfer over the reverse, a stick mark near the right cuff, other small stick marks over the front and lower front and finally, pilling on the interior of both arms/elbows.
