Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/24/2024
The American League home run king for four seasons from 1904 to 1907, Harry Davis guided Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics to World Series championships in 1910 and 1911, with this rare pin produced to celebrate the first of the two Fall Classic victories. At 2 1/4" in circumference, the pinback features Philly's trademark white elephant, along with a cameo image of Davis, with "1910" along the bottom. Surviving in stellar condition, with just a few tiny indentations to the surface and some minor oxidation to the reverse, a paper insert on the reverse has "J.H. Shaw 1326 Arch St. Philadelphia" printed in purple ink.
