A product of Brynäs IF in his native Sweden, Nicklas Backstrom would hear his name called 4th overall by the Washington Capitals at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and has played his entire National Hockey League career with the club thus far, helping bring the Stanley Cup to the United States capital for the first time in franchise history in 2018. Beginning a streak in of six-consecutive 50-assist seasons, one of only 26 players to ever accomplish the feat, during the 2013-14 season and currently Washington's all-time franchise leader in assists, offered here is this pair of skates worn by Backstrom in the era of the early-to-mid-2010s, between the 2013 and 2015 seasons. Bauer made APX2 model boots that measure out to a either a size 10 or 10.5 based on the "288" notation on each blade holder, the skates come complete with original steel and laces while the tongues of both have been reinforced and hardened. Also featuring the original insoles on the interior, the bottoms of each skate have had Capitals player identifier stickers affixed to them as well as another label that has mostly been covered and matching Capials holograms that match up with the accompanying team COA. Coming with a pair of cloth blade guard, the skates both show good game-use throughout their entirety though numerous marks, abrasions and scuffs over each piece, the heaviest wear is present on the outside of the left skate which shows a few cuts and gashes.
