Employed as the artist for the Hockey Hall of Fame throughout the 1990s, Doug West produced the artwork for the gorgeous “Legends of Hockey” postcards issued from 1992 to 1996 that featured the greatest names in hockey history. With a total of ninety (90) postcards making up a complete set of these beautiful offerings and originally issued over the course of four (4) different series' offered here is this collection of forty-four (44) "Legends of Hockey" examples that includes thirty (30) signed examples. All sporting a biography and a true image of the featured player and including all the greatest names in hockey within its checklists, each card also displays a serial number for where they fall in the print run over the lower reverse. Starting with the signed offerings, all of which have been autographed in either blue or black marker ink, examples of deceased HOFers that are present include; Maurice Richard, Jean Beliveau (x2), Bobby Hull, Gordie Howe, Johnny Bower, Harry Lumley, Tommy Ivan (Builder), Stan Mikita, Tony Esposito, Sid Abel, Red Kelly, Ted Kennedy, Allan Stanley, Red Horner, Clint Smith, Chuck Rayner, Milt Schmidt and Marcel Pronovost while others present include; Norm Ullman (x2), Dave Keon (x3), Darryl Sittler, Lanny McDonald, Bobby Clarke (x2), Brad Park, Frank Mahovlich and Phil Esposito. An excellent grouping, all the cards are largely in good condition though a good portion does show wear to the corners and/or edges through things such as small dings or bends while it is also worth noting that one of the Bobby Clarke examples has a bit of damage/paper loss on the reverse of it at the top border.
