Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024

Led by HOFer Bill Mosienko in both goals and points, with fellow enshrined member Harry Lumley seeing action in every game for the club, the Chicago Black Hawks finished in sixth place in the NHL standings in 1951-52. We have a game-used stick signed by the Black Hawks from the 1951-52 season. A Northland Pro model, "McFadden" is stamped to the upper shaft and "19" handwritten, with the original tape remaining over the knob, blade and at mid-shaft. Signed by 16 in black marker along one side of the shaft, signers include HOFers Lumley, Stewart, Gadsby, Mosienko and coach Ebbie Goodfellow, along with Bodnar, Gee, McFadden, Guidolin, Babando, Horcek, Fogolin, Hyrmnak, Taylor and one other. The reverse shaft has "1951-52" handwritten and "Chicago Blackhawks" in block letters. The signatures present well, with the stick showing nice game-use, with wear to the underside blade and tears to the blade tape, with a few marks to the shaft. The blade also sports a few cracks visible at the toe, with some minor chipping at the heel. There is a crack to the shaft, with this repaired with the mid-shaft black tape. We should note that McFadden wore #18 with the Black Hawks, and with #19 handwritten to the stick, players who wore that number and possibly used this stick include Rags Raglan, Pete Conacher and Steve Hrymnak.
