Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2024
A product of the Ontario Hockey League's Windsor Spitfires who was originally drafted 22nd overall by the Detroit Red Wings at the 1986 NHL Entry Draft, Adam Graves would go on to play a total of 1152 games in his National Hockey League career, spending ten (10) years in the bright lights of Manhattan with the New York Rangers and helping them to a Stanley Cup championship in 1994. Also having won a Cup in 1990 with the Edmonton Oilers, offered here is this stick used by Graves as a member of the Rangers circa 2000. A Bauer Supreme 3030 model stick with "Graves" stamped to the upper shaft, the stick retains its original white tape job around the shaved down handle while the blade tape has been removed to facilitate Adam's flowing black marker ink signature that displays without issue and has been dated by him with a "2000" notation that has been penned underneath. Having been painted black over the toe area and bottom of the shaft, the stick displays excellent use through numerous marks and abrasions throughout the shaft, lower shaft, heel and toe while residue from the formerly applied blade tape is visible over the bottom edge.
