A member of the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame, with his 28 Olympic games-played a record among Russian national team players, Darius Kasparaitis enjoyed an especially lengthy NHL career, with numerous seasons spent with the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Islanders while also enjoying stints with the Colorado Avalanche and New York Rangers as well. A three-time Olympic medalist and a veteran of 863 National Hockey League game, offered here is this Colorado Avalanche jersey worn by Kasparaitis during his short stint with the club during the 2001-02 Stanley Cup Playoffs, specifically the 2002 Western Conference Finals against the Detroit Red Wings. Made by Koho, and displaying a lone size "52" label affixed to the inner collar, a Koho logo patch has been added on over the reverse neckline while the NHL shield emblem has been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front of the garment with an Avalanche team crest that features embroidered details throughout, matching alternate logo patches have been sewn down over both shoulders as well. Styled atop the sleeves and verso with Kasparaitis' number "11" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals, "Kasparaitis" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters in a gentle arch across the affixed arched and matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Exhibiting good game-wear throughout, stick marks are present over the front and both sleeves while numerous board burns and unrepaired small holes/cuts are found over both sleeves as well. Regarding the photo-match, the jersey has been matched with Getty Image #633295 (May 27th, 2002 vs Detroit - Western Conference Final Game 5) to the unrepaired small hole to the left of the first "1" on the right sleeve. Hailing from his personal collection, an LOA signed by Kasparaitis will accompany the piece.
