A member of the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame, with his 28 Olympic games-played a record among Russian national team players, Darius Kasparaitis enjoyed an especially lengthy NHL career, with numerous seasons spent with the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Islanders while also enjoying stints with the Colorado Avalanche and New York Rangers as well. A three-time Olympic medalist and a veteran of 863 National Hockey League game, offered here is this Pittsburgh Penguins jersey worn by Kasparaitis during the 2001-02 campaign, his final season with the club. Made by CCM and sporting a size "52" label affixed to the inner collar, his number "11" has been penned over the label along with an "A" in black marker ink. Having had a CCM logo patch added over the reverse neckline and the NHL shield embroidered into the reverse hem, the front of the jersey is decorated with a Penguins team crest that features both textured and embroidered details throughout its entirety. Displaying the distinguished alternate captain's "A" over the left breast and Kasparaitis' number "11" over the sleeves and verso in dual layer black-over-yellow tackle twill numerals, "Kasparaitis" is spelt out in matching style letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Exhibiting excellent game-wear, numerous stick marks are observed over the front and both sleeves while a fabric pull is found over the lower front. Showing minor thread fraying on the interior of the jersey, the garment hails from Kasparaitis' personal collection and is accompanied by his signed LOA.
