A monumental moment for all fans of hockey, with his goal at 14:47 of the second period, Wayne Gretzky added his name to the record books once again, this time taking over the all-time goal scoring record from his boyhood idol, Gordie Howe. The 802nd marker of his career and coming in only his 15th season of play, the historical goal would be assisted by longtime teammate Marty McSorely and be the headline of a game that the Kings would end up losing to the Vancouver Canucks by a score of 6-3. Going on to score an additional 92 goals before retiring from the National Hockey League at the end of the 1998-99 season, offered here is this full ticket from the historical contest that has been signed over the front by "The Great One" himself. Listing the date, arena, opponents, seat information and original price in black printed text on a green background, a small piece of white tape has been added over the front that had an annotation reading "802" penned to it in black ballpoint pen ink. Having been signed by Gretzky over the front with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue, with an "802" annotation at the end in matching ink and condition. Having been graded as "AUTHENTIC" by the inspectors at PSA with the signature also having been certified by PSA/DNA, only five (5) such signed tickets have ever been evaluated by the company with three (3) earning the "AUTHENTIC" designation that is seen here. Displaying particulars of the game over the label as well as the all-important "Passes Howe NHL All-Time Goals" notation, the desirable ticket
will thrill any Great One collector.
