This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years later. Inducted into the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1972, offered here is collection of six (6) memorabilia cards of "Mr. Hockey" that hail from various Upper Deck and Fleer hockey releases from 1999-2000 to 2005-06. Each picturing Howe during his long career as a member of the Detroit Red Wings and with each card having had swatches of memorabilia including sticks and jerseys worn or used by Howe embedded into the front, the group is paced by a 2000-01 Upper Deck Heroes "Game-Used Twigs Combos" card of Howe along with Steve Yzerman that is hand serial numbered "27/50" in thin black marker over the front while close behind is a 1999-2000 Upper Deck Black Diamond "A Piece of History" "Level 2" stick card of Howe. Also including a 2001-02 Upper Deck Stanley Cup Champs "Championship Sticks" card (serial numbered "046/150"), a 2005-06 Upper Deck SP Game Used "NHL Game Gear card (serial numbered "011/100" and features swatches of both a stick and jersey) and a 2002-03 Upper Deck Foundations "1000 Point Club" card (serial numbered "113/150"), the last card in the group comes in the form of a 2001-02 Fleer Greats of the Game "Original Six Sticks" offering that is void of any serial numbering. All remaining in excellent condition and found in their original raw ungraded state, light edge and corner wear is seen throughout the group that is worth mentioning for accuracy.
