Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years later. Offered here, we present this 2005-06 Upper Deck SP Game Used Edition "Signature Sticks" autograph card signed by the man they call "Mr. Hockey". Picturing the 1972 HHOF inductee as a member of the Detroit Red Wings, a swatch of wood taken from a stick used by Howe in an NHL game has been embedded into the front of the card which has then been signed by the hockey legend with a thin marker ink signature that displays without issue. Having added his famed "Mr. Hockey" moniker in matching ink above his autograph, the card is serial numbered "1/5" in gold foil at the right border and remains in excellent condition, sporting just a bit of white that is visual at the top right hand corner. An esteemed offering that doesn't come up for grabs often, don't miss out on this one for your all-important collection!
