Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/21/2024
Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years later. Offered here, we present this grouping of autograph cards from Upper Deck's 2004-05 Legends Classic release that feature Howe as well as numerous other Hall of Famers. Including a pair of "Classic Signatures" quad autograph examples with the first signed by Howe along with Bobby Clarke, Cam Neely and Clark Gillies and the second signed by Howe, Guy Lafleur, Mike Bossy and Jari Kurri, all have signed beside their respective images with crisp blue marker ink signatures that display without issue with Howe adding his famed "Mr. Hockey" annotation above his instantly recognizable signature as well. Serial numbered "01/10" and "07/10" respectively with both cards in excellent condition and showing just some minor wear to the edges and corners that is worth mentioning for accuracy, as well as light surface wear at the borders of the card where the images of Clarke and Neely are. Additionally, also included is a solo signed "Classic Signatures" card of Howe that shows him during his days as a member of the Detroit Red Wings and has been signed by him alongside his image with a crisp blue marker ink autograph. Not serial numbered and once again sporting his "Mr. Hockey" inscription above the signature, the card remains in excellent condition with light corner wear present at all four (4) points. Some seldom seen cardboard, don't miss out on these for your all-important collection.
