Hailing from a season in which the Montreal Canadiens would win their fourth of five straight Stanley Cup championships from 1956-60, up for grabs here is this complete assembly of Parkhurst’s 1958-59 release totalling 50-cards and featuring classic Original Six star power from both of the NHL’s Canadian franchises. Found to be a collection of mostly EX and EX-MT range cards, the group is paced by EX-MT to NM scope cards of 16-Backstrom RC and 38-M. Richard (microscopic bottom right dent) while the aforementioned EX to EX-MT cards include those of 2-H. Richard (slight corner wear), 22-Plante (slight corner wear bottom right), 23-Stanley (slight corner wear), 28-Geoffrion (tiny ding at top left corner), 33-Mahovlich (slight corner wear) and 42-Horton (slight corner wear). Also including EX vicinity examples of 26-Jacques Plante - Plante Catches a Shot (small bottom left corner ding), 35-Jacques Plante - Canadiens on Guard (tiny stain top right), 45-Pulford (bottom right corner) and 48-Armstrong (light wear to top two corners), VG-EX to EX cards picture the likes of 1-Bob Pulford - Pulford Comes Close (corner fuzz), 21-Jacques Plante - All Eyes on Puck (bottom right corner), 34-Beliveau (dinged top right corner) and 46-Bower (corner wear). Rounded out by a G to VG copy of card #17 picturing Charlie Hodge (small crease and stain) and a GOOD neighbourhood copy of Doug Harvey's card #49 (dirty and small crease at bottom left), the rest of the set includes one (1) card around FR to G, nine (9) cards around VG-EX to EX, twelve (12) cards around EX and ten (10) cards around EX to EX-MT. A wonderful trip down memory lane to the golden era of the National Hockey League awaits our lucky winning bidder.
