Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
The 75th player in history to reach 1,000 NHL career points, Daniel Alfredsson spent the majority of his 18-seasons in the nation’s capital with the Senators and holds numerous franchise records. The Swede also represented his nation continuously throughout his career, winning gold at the 2006 Winter Olympics. This signed stick was used by the star during his rookie era, circa 1996-97, with this specific type of model also seeing use with Alfredsson at the 1995 IIHF World Championships and 1996 World Cup of Hockey. A Sher-Wood PMPX 9950 model with “Alfredsson” and “11” stamped to the upper shaft, the NHL striping accent is still present over the lower shaft. Retaining the original tape jobs over the handle/knob, shaft and blade, it is worth noting that notations reading "PIT" Daniel's number "11" are found in black marker over the handle tape. Exhibiting moderate game-use, marks and abrasions are present throughout the shaft and shaft tape including rips to the tape itself while the lower shaft and untaped sections of the blade sport a number of dark black marks and some small spots of red post paint transfer. Additionally, marks are seen on both sides of the blade tape and a rip is present on the forehand side. Finally, more red marks are seen along the edge of the upper shaft. An LOA will accompany the piece.
