Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Spending just 135 of his 1474 National Hockey League career games played in "The Windy City" as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, Doug Gilmour would record 112 points over that time and be named captain of the squad after the departure of Chris Chelios in 1999-00. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2011, offered here is this pair of gloves worn by Gilmour as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks in 1998-99. Hespeler RTX model gauntlets in Chicago's black, red and white colour way, Gilmour's nickname of "Killer" is found screened over each wrist in white letters while "Hespeler" is done in matching style red and white letters. Featuring brand patches sewn in to the inside of each wrist, the gloves show light-to-moderate game-use in the form of rubbing to each palm, which is heaviest on the left one, the odd stick/slash mark over the outside of both gloves and wear to the graphics on the outside of each as well. Additionally, the 1989 Stanley Cup champion has signed over the wrist guard of each glove with a gorgeous silver marker ink signature that displays without issue.
