Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
Only the third 16-year-old in history to represent Canada at the World Juniors, Jason Spezza skated in the NHL for almost two decades, and is currently an assistant general manager with Pittsburgh. From his second of five seasons in Texas, we have a photo-matched Dallas Stars jersey worn by Spezza in 2015-16, specifically on Nov 17, 2015 vs Buffalo (won by Stars 3-1, with Spezza scoring the second goal of the match) and Nov 19, 2015 vs Washington (won by Stars 3-2, with Spezza scoring the final goal of the match). Featuring a size “58” label affixed to the inner collar, crests for the NHL and Reebok are seen over the front and back necklines respectively. Decorated over the front with a textured Stars team crest in layered tackle twill with embroidered details, Dallas’ alternate logo patch resides over each shoulder. The sleeves and verso of the jersey have “90” sewn in single layer green twill numbers, with "Spezza" directly to the upper reverse in matching material. Worn in two contests, the jersey shows just light use. Getty Image #498288328 (Nov 17, 2015) has been matched to the dark mark directly beneath the Stars crest on the right shoulder. A MeiGray patch numbered “M01633” has been sewn inside the reverse hem, and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “White - Kiosk Set - 11/17/15 & 11/18/15” specimen ("11/18/15" is incorrect, as the Stars actually played Washington on the 19th, not 18th). An LOA will accompany.
