Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
An integral component of the well-oiled production machine that was the Edmonton Oilers during their glorious 1980s heyday, Glenn Anderson would contribute to the club greatly with three seasons of eclipsing the 100-point total, with participation in four All-Star Games during the era. A six-time Stanley Cup champion, offered here, we present this stick used by Anderson as a member of the Edmonton Oilers in the mid-1980s. A Canadien 6001 model with "Anderson" stamped over the shaft and his number "9" penned above in partially faded black marker ink, the stick retains Anderson's original tape job of white over the shaved handle/knob and black over the blade. Exhibiting partially intact accent stickers over the upper and lower shaft and stamped with "151" over the underside of the heel, the stick displays excellent game-use throughout via numerous marks/abrasions over the shaft, lower shaft, heel and tape. Signed by Anderson with a blue marker ink signature over the forehand side of the lower shaft with the autograph displaying well and having been personalized with a notation reading "To Rick, Good Luck" in matching ink, a MeiGray sticker is affixed up near the knob and is accompanied by a matching LOA.
