Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
A standout in the KHL with his hometown CSKA Moscow squad, defenceman Nikita Zaitsev made his NHL debut for Toronto in 2016-17 and spent three seasons with the club before being traded to the province-rival Ottawa Senators, on July 1, 2019. This photo-matched Toronto Maple Leafs jersey was worn by the Russian star in 2017-18, his second of three seasons in Ontario. “58” sizing appears along the Adidas collar band, with NHL and Adidas crests on the front and reverse necklines respectively. Featuring a vintage style Leafs team crest with embroidered detailing, “22” appears over the sleeves and verso in single navy twill on the Set 1 garment, with “Zaitsev” across the sewn nameplate in matching material. Sporting nice game-use, there are a few dark marks to the front and sleeves, with a stick mark to the upper left reverse sleeve. Team repairs are also present, with examples situated on the right (7) and left (4) sleeves. Getty Image #897713956 (Dec 15, 2017) has been matched to the three team repairs on the lower left sleeve, with the extended blue tread at the bottom left of the first "2" of "22" on the left sleeve also visible. The team patch numbered “H-0036” is affixed to the inside hem near a still-attached team store price tag, with a matching COA to accompany from the Leafs.
