Much more difficult to track down than their 1939-40 black and white predecessors are O-Pee-Chee’s sepia-toned 5” by 7” cards that came after, with numerous aspects to fill you in on with this batch, its completeness an appealing attribute. An overall mostly mid-range assembly when it comes to the group's condition range with some higher scope ones mixed in as well, the group of key cards is led condition wise by the likes of EX to EX-MT examples of 108-Broda and 124-Stewart while those seen as falling into the neighbourhood of VG-EX to EX includes specimens of 131-Bentley (light corner wear), 132-Schmidt (light corner wear) and 136-Patrick (a bit dirty on the reverse). Followed up by VG to VG-EX copies of cards 101-Blake (light corner wear and glue residue on the reverse), 116-Reardon (light corner wear and glue residue on the reverse), 118-Apps, 125-Lach (light corner wear and glue residue on the reverse) and 146-Apps (dirty reverse), it should be noted that an additional copy of card #146 featuring Apps is also included and found in the lower grade condition range of G to VG after inspection due to a crease and a front corner stain while rounding out the key cards is a copy of card #130 featuring Turk Broda that has a light bend which shows on the reverse.
For the rest of the set, those seen as being in the range of EX to EX-MT total three (3) and include the likes of 109-Kampman, 115-Motter and 150-Goodman while cards in the vicinity of VG-EX to EX include 103-Stanowski, 126-Schewchuk, 128-Grosso, 133-Metz, 137-Dahlstrom, 138-Bruneteau, 139-Kerr, 140-Herron, 141-Metz, 143-Hergesheimer, 148-Chisholm and 149-Wiseman. With cards in the neighbourhood of VG to VG-EX found with light glue residue on the reverse, those included in the proximity include 102-Sands, 104-Adams, 105-Mowers, 106-Quilty, 107-Taylor, 110-Drillon, 111-Metz, 112-Haynes, 113-Marker, 114-Singbush, 117-Langelle, 120-Goupille, 121-Benoit, 122-Schriner, 134-Crawford and 145-Wilder. Rounded out by FR to G range cards of 127-Larson, 129-Douglas, 142-Heller and 147-Getliffe as well as PR condition cardboard of 119-Hamilton, 123-Carveth, 135-Benson and 144-Demers, exceedingly tough to put together are these scarcities, with all of the work already done for you here.
