This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
Having roots in the United States dating all the way back to the middle of the 18th century, baseball has firmly cemented itself as “America’s Pastime” in the many years since then and has given sports fans some amazing moments along the way. The top recognition of any Major League Baseball player’s career, induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York has only been awarded to 342 individuals with 268 of them being players. Offered here, we present this collection of signed baseball memorabilia including a trio of items signed by men inducted into the hallowed halls of Cooperstown. Including a pair of Rawlings made 'Official Major League Baseballs' signed individually be HOFers Ken Griffey Jr. and Mr. October, Reggie Jackson, both have been signed by their respective baseball legend in blue ballpoint pen with the autographs on both displaying well and without issue other than just some very light fading from age. With the Griffey Jr. example sporting an Upper Deck hologram numbered "BAG96447" that has been affixed and is accompanied by a matching UDA COA, the Reggie ball has a Topps Archives Reserve 2001 logo stamped to the left side of the main panel while a Topps hologram is also affixed with the cube housing the ball closed by a company seal. Of note, both balls remain nice and white despite a small amount of toning from age. The Griffey ball is also accompanied by all the Upper Deck packaging as well. For the other four (4) items making up the rest of the lot, all are found in the form of official New Era branded on-field fitted baseball caps that were pulled from boxes of 2001 Fleer Legacy. Featuring examples signed by Jermaine Dye (Kansas City Royals), Juan Gonzalez (Cleveland Indians), Corey Patterson (Chicago Cubs) and HOFer Carl Yastrzemski (Boston Red Sox), all have been signed over the brims with either silver of black ink signatures that display without issue with the hats themselves measuring between size 6 3/4 and 8. All made of wool with team and league logos embroidered into the front and reverse of each, all four (4) remain in excellent condition with no issues to report, the same going for the autographs as well. Additionally, all have had Fleer holograms affixed to the underside of the brims and are accompanied by matching COA's.
