Always an enticing set for collectors to add to their inventory, the 1970-71 O-Pee-Chee release consisted of bright colours and a 264-card checklist, with this near complete assembly of the release up for grabs here. Including 255 of the 264 cards that make up the set, missing only those of 24-Checklist, 132-Checklist, 175-Redmond, 234-T. Esposito AS, 240-Mikita AS, 242-F. Mahovlich AS, 244-Giacomin AS, 247-T. Esposito Calder and 250-T. Esposito Vezina, the near-complete assembly is found to be in a mix of grade ranges with the overall average condition spanning from G to VG up to VG to VG-EX, largely due to creases and corner wear. For the key cards, the rookie specimens of 67-Park (VG-EX to EX - tiny bottom left corner crease), 131-Pearreault (GOOD - corner wear and completely off-center), 195-Clarke (FR to GD - multiple creases) and 218-Sittler (GOOD - creased), are all present and accounted for while the rest of the non first years are paced by an EX-MT to NM copy of card #236, Bobby Orr's All-Star card, as well as EX to EX-MT cards of 11-P. Esposito (off-center - light wear bottom right) and 238-Howe AS (light wear at bottom corners). For the rest of the notables, the leadoff card of Gerry Cheevers is around VG to VG-EX (top left corner ding plus a right border scratch), while 15-Hull (corner wear and surface scratches) is in the scope of G to VG and 29-Howe (crease near bottom left corner) plus 55-Beliveau (small crease and corner wear) are both in the vicinity of GOOD for their efforts. Lasty, card #3 of Bobby Orr is seen as being FR to G because of multiple creases.
