Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
With four seasons spent in the OHA with St Catharines as the club was a breeding ground for future Chicago talent including Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita, Elmer “Moose” Vasko would see his first Windy City action in 1956-57, skating in 64 contests for the Black Hawks, as the club slowly improved throughout the decade. Ten seasons in Chicago would follow along with an additional three in Minnesota, with the Duparquet native competing in four NHL All-Star contests along with being named to the Second NHL All-Star Team in both 1962-63 and 1963-64. A Stanley Cup champion with Chicago in 1961, offered here is this copy of Vasko's 1964-65 Topps "Tall Boys" card that has been graded by PSA and displays a MINT 9 mark over its label. A Pop-7 second highest graded offered with only one PSA 10 having been graded higher by PSA out of all the examples submitted to the company over the years, the card displays with all the attributes you would expect of a high-grade card including bold colours, sharp corners, precise centering, smooth edges and clean surfaces. Housed in an oversized PSA holder that remains in excellent condition despite a few light marks over both sides, don't miss out on this seldom seen pack fresh vintage offering!
