Menacing the opposition with forays from his crease to intercept advancing players, Ron Hextall exhibited early that he wasn’t one to be messed with, with the superstar netminder especially skilled at both the physical aspect of the game and his controlled handling of the puck. A winner of 296 games in his National Hockey League career, offered here, we present this stick used by Hextall in the mid-to-late-1980s as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers. A Victoriaville Pro model with “R Hextall” stamped over the upper shaft, the stick retains its original white-over-black tape job on the knob but the blade appears to have been retaped at some point based on the lack of aging and style when compared with other Hextall twigs that have come to market. Exhibiting an intact foil striping sticker over the handle where the paddle and shaft meet, the stick displays with good use including puck marks throughout the paddle and shaft and red post paint transfers over both sides of the paddle and backside of the upper shaft as well. With additional wear observed via some chips to the top edge of the paddle, the stick remains structurally sound throughout. Additionally, the desirable offering has been signed on the forehand side paddle by both Hextall and HOFer/Flyers legend, Bernie Parent, with the pair penning their respective autographs in black marker ink that displays well.
