The rookie cards of three well-known coaches and six now Hall of Fame players have always contributed to the popularity of O-Pee-Chee’s 1974-75 issue, for the first time a big 396-card effort. A rather attractive gathering is to tell you about here, with the assembly in a nice uniform condition range of EX to EX-MT, however, with many having typical O-Pee-Chee centering issues affecting them while there are about 30 cards in the VG-EX to EX range. All existing in raw ungraded form, the aforementioned rookies include those of 168-McDonald, 180-Salming, 195-Potvin, 304-Middleton and 316-Shutt in the condition range of EX-MT with all sporting centering issues except for the Middleton and Shutt offerings. Additionally, the first-year cards of 357-Clement and 388-Gainey are around the scope of EX with he Gainey off-center while 11-Davidson is around the vicinity of VG-EX to EX and 353-Resch is in the neighbourhood of G to VG due to surface wear on the reverse. Finally, the three coaches rookie cards, led by the Scotty Bowman example at EX-MT, those of Don Cherry and Ray Shero are both seen as being in EX condition but have centering issues that are worth pointing out for accuracy. For the rest of the set, including less that a total of ten (10) cards that have a small crease, the notables include EX-MT specimens of 100-Orr (off-center), 155-Dryden (off-center), 162-Checklist, 200-P. Esposito, 248-Orr Norris Trophy, 260-Clarke and 280-Robinson (off-center) while 40-Sittler (off-center), 72-Dionne (off-center), 82-Smith (off-center), 130-Orr All-Star (wax stain), 232-Lafleur and 311-Checklist (off-center) are all seen as EX condition and finally card #54, the checklist, falls into the proximity of VG shape due to a crease.
