This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
Doubling the team choices available previously for any youthful participant and keeping pace with the expansion of the NHL, Munro Games, longtime makers of quality Canadian table top hockey games, produced a boxed set of additional players in the late-1960s after the NHL grew from six to twelve teams. Featuring 5 players and 1 goaltender for each of the 10 NHL’s franchises (Montreal and Toronto players came free with each table-top model game) for a total of 60 players, the set is complete, with 5 players and a goaltender for Boston, new York, Chicago and Detroit in the East, and LA, Oakland, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Philadelphia and St Louis in the West. The metal player’s exhibit just light age and storage wear, with a few examples showing use with a bit of surface wear. The original 11 ½” x 14” box with pictorial lid exhibits moderate wear with three of the four corners split on the box lid (one has been repaired with tape). There is also some dirt staining to the underside of the box bottom.
