Hockey’s first million-dollar man, Bobby Hull shocked the hockey world when he announced that he would be leaving the NHL to accept the offer from the Winnipeg Jets in 1972-73, which included a million-dollar signing bonus. Coming back into the fold of the National Hockey League when the Jets were invited to join the league along with three (3) other franchises for the 1979-80 season, offered here is this stick used by "The Golden Jet" during his final NHL season of 1979-80. A Northland made "Registered Pattern" model with a faded "B. Hull" stamp featured over the upper shaft, Bobby's number "9" is penned above in black marker ink while a "Made in USA" stamp that is faded graces the butt end. Retaining Hull's original black tape job over the shaved handle and knob as well as the blade, the foil accent sticker is seen wrapped around the lower portion of the shaft and is fully intact. Stamped over both sides of the shaft with a pattern number of "1178-1", the stick shows game-use through various dark marks seen throughout the shaft as well as some abrasions with most decorating the lower portion of the vintage lumber. Sporting some red post paint transfer marks on the backhand side of the shaft as well as additional dark marks over the heel, blade and blade tape, the aforementioned blade wrapping is slightly torn along the bottom near the heel exposing some light wear underneath it. Additionally, adding to its appeal, Hull has signed the upper portion of the shaft on the forehand side with a vintage autograph that displays well and is dated 1979, adding an annotation that reads "To Larry, Best Wishes" in matching marker and condition.
