Originally drafted 72nd overall by the Calgary Flames at the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, Mark Lamb would enjoy a competitive hockey career that spanned two decades and saw him play in a total of 403 National Hockey League games with Calgary, Detroit, Edmonton, Ottawa, Philadelphia and Montreal, hoisting the Stanley Cup in 1990 as a member of the Edmonton Oilers. Originally part of the Michael Wexler collection that was purchased from the team archives in 1997, we offer this Edmonton Oilers jersey worn by Lamb during that Stanley Cup championship season of 1989-90. Made by CCM, a Maska Air-Knit label displaying a mostly washed away size "52" designation that was penned in ballpoint pen is affixed to the inner collar while a notation reading "89-90/2" in black ink is observed above, pertaining to year and set information. Featuring a customized shortened hem, the swatch of hemmed fabric displaying the embroidered CCM and NHL shield logos has been cut out and sewn over top of the new reverse hem line. Decorated over the front with a familiar Oilers team crest in layered tackle twill, Lamb's number "7" has been added over the sleeves and verso in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while "Lamb" has been spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting excellent game-wear, stick marks are present over both sleeves as well as the front and reverse while board burns and unrepaired holes are observed over both of the customized shortened sleeves as well. Sporting a team repair over the reverse and left sleeve, light pilling is found on the interior of the jersey along with salting and rusting to the fight strap. Accompanied by an Oilers LOA, MeiGray holograms from a COR that is no longer present have also been affixed.
